State of Play Media controversies, scandals, are mapped out as chess check-mate configurations. Each of these snapshots of the current state of play is a module which can live as an illustration in another publication, for instance a newspaper or magazine.  The chessboard itself is scalable, from a very high resolution (global) scandal, to a very low resolution scandal— an existential scandal of one.
